To venable (verb): To randomly muse upon this and that.

His Bride.

I attended a wedding some years ago of a friend. In his wedding speech he mentioned about how when he saw his bride, as she came into church, she “took his breath away” (or words to that effect). My immediate thought was that she was nothing special. Dressed in a nice dress, of course, with some appropriate finery, but really no different to any other bride. So why was my friend so impressed?

Well, she was his bride. She had come to that church to be his and his alone. She was the one he had set his affection upon and to see her in all her glory was so special to him. So it is with our Lord Jesus. The church is His bride. The church is His, through Him shedding His blood to purchase her for Himself. And One day He will present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless (Eph. 5:27). Then He will see all those who are His. He has made them to be His beautiful bride through the travail of His own soul. Whereupon He will be satisfied.

And when He sees her glory He will delight in her and enjoy her forever. Amazing! And all because she is HIS bride.

Finally, this video I think gives a faint hint of what it might be when our Lord welcomes His bride.
