To venable (verb): To randomly muse upon this and that.

One of the key techniques in producing a good soap opera is that each episode ends so as to encourage the viewer to watch the next episode. This happens through leaving the story so poised that people are interested to find out what was the outcome which comes in the next episode.

Preaching though is not a soap opera! We do not preach through the books of the Bible in that manner. We are not going through passage after passage with each message so constructed so as to make sure people come back next week. What we are doing is bringing the Lord’s message from the passage in front of us to the people gathered before us. They are not to be thinking that next week I will get the important message or I will get the conclusion. They should be thinking that God’s message for now has been brought to them from His Word.
