Last Saturday is rapidly fading into history. However, it was a monumental day in the history of this nation. John Stevens here gives an analysis of where we are at as Christians in the light of these events.

Two scriptures that came to mind as the day unfolded were:

1.   “Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter” (Is. 5:20)

That which is condemned by the Word of God is gloried in. What a shameful day for our country

2.   “Streams of tears flow from my eyes,
for your law is not obeyed” (Ps. 119:136)

How did we as Christians respond to these events. I trust it was not with a sense of supercillious condescension. Rather, I trust there was some grieving. Grieving that God is ignored in all His holiness. And also grieving over the sad consequences for those who turn away from God’s ways.
