To venable (verb): To randomly muse upon this and that.

It is wise to be very clear and straightforward and open about the teaching of the Bible on moral issues. We used to be able to assume that all in the church knew what moral standards were appropriate. But we cannot make that assumption anymore and to do so is very risky.

In the generations before us it was known, both in the church and in the culture around us, that certain moral standards were appropriate. But now there is no longer a consensus. Sadly, as the world has become more and more godless,  we have been left in a situation where the moral standards of Christians are often more influenced by the ways of the world than by God’s Word.

It is particularly needful for those who are growing up in this society to have it drilled into their brains what the standards of God are. The ways of the world in the moral realm are just so different to the ways as established in God’s Word. The younger ones among us do not want to hear mixed messages from us. They want the Word of God clearly and unequivocally stated.

So it  is stated in God’s Word that sex outside of marriage is wrong. We now need also to make it clear that true marriage is the commitment of one man to one woman for life to the exclusion of all others. The Word of God says: Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral (Heb. 13:4) and  You shall not commit adultery (Ex. 2:14)

Fellow Christian, whether you be younger or older in age let us be absolutely clear about this because the Word of God is unequivocal; sex outside marriage is wrong.
